Every property on this board is real ground. The six loop names — Honey Bee,
Black Bear, Monarch, Brook Trout, Golden Delicious, Cardinal — are the campground’s
own, and they are all West Virginia state symbols: the insect, the animal, the butterfly,
the fish, the fruit, the bird. The lot numbers under each section are the real lots, taken
from the same site data Ride to Bud Man is built on, and all 156 of
them are on the board exactly once.
Site 111 and Site 99 are the only two the tape names by number, so they are the only
two squares that are a single campsite rather than a section, and they are the two worth the
most. That is a decision about the gang, not about the campground.
What the map settled, and what it didn’t. The aerial confirms Site 111 sits at
the far end of Brook Trout with nothing past it, Site 99 sits in the corner of Monarch’s
creek leg, Honey Bee is the high dry loop near the entrance, and Cardinal is the big ring
with the field in the middle, the boat ramp and the bathhouse — the Bud Man year.
The point is still a guess. Black Bear’s east end is the only point-shaped
ground there is and it is what’s left once the others place themselves, but nobody has
confirmed it, and the board says so rather than quietly pretending otherwise.
